What Replica Studio collects, and what it doesn't.
This Privacy Policy explains how CIBELE, Inc. ("CIBELE," "we," "us") handles information when you use Replica Studio, an American dialect training application for iPhone. Privacy contact: contact@cibeleinc.com.
In short: Replica Studio has no account and no advertising. Your voice recordings stay on your iPhone. Your training history is stored on your iPhone. Subscriptions are handled by Apple and RevenueCat. Film scenes are streamed from YouTube.
Replica Studio uses your iPhone's microphone only while an exercise is recording you — to let you compare your take with the reference and to measure its timing.
Recordings are processed on your device and are not uploaded to our servers. A take is kept in memory while you compare it, and is discarded when you move on. We do not build a voice profile of you and we do not use your recordings to train any model.
You can refuse or withdraw microphone access at any time in Settings › Replica Studio. The exercises that need your voice will then not record.
To adapt your training, Replica Studio keeps on your iPhone: the targets you chose, your progress on each sound, the history of your sessions (date, time, type, duration), your weekly plan, your favorite scenes, the scenes you prepared (line timings and text) and the subtitles fetched for them, your settings, and a first name if you entered one.
This information is stored locally on your device and is not sent to us. Like the rest of your iPhone's app data, it is included in your own device backups (iCloud Backup or a computer backup) if you use them, so it comes back when you restore your iPhone. Deleting the app deletes it from the device.
The Scenes room plays officially published film and television clips through YouTube's embedded player, provided by YouTube (Google LLC). We do not host or download these videos.
When a clip plays, YouTube may collect information according to its own policies, including device and usage information and cookies. Replica Studio uses YouTube API Services. By using the Scenes room you are also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's processing is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
When you prepare a scene, the app may request that clip's public subtitles from YouTube to fill in the lines you mark. These requests are made directly from your device.
To play clips reliably inside the app, the YouTube player is loaded through a relay page hosted on our website (cibele.pages.dev, served by Cloudflare). We do not record what you watch; like any website host, Cloudflare may process technical request data (such as IP address) to deliver and secure the page.
Subscriptions are purchased through Apple's App Store. Apple processes your payment; we never receive your payment card details.
We use RevenueCat, Inc. to know whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user identifier, your purchase and subscription status (product, dates, renewal, trial), your device's App Store receipts, and basic technical information (app version, device type, country or region). If you book a weekly plan and allow notifications, reminders are scheduled locally on your iPhone. No notification service receives your plan.
If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message, and we use it only to answer you.
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies: subscription status is processed to perform our contract with you; microphone access relies on your permission, which you can withdraw at any time; support messages are processed to answer you (contract or legitimate interest).
CIBELE, Inc. is based in the United States. Information handled by our service providers (Apple, RevenueCat, Google/YouTube, Cloudflare for our website) may be processed in the United States and other countries, with the safeguards those providers apply under applicable law.
Training information stays on your device until you delete it or the app. Subscription records are kept by Apple and RevenueCat as long as needed to manage your subscription and meet legal and accounting obligations. Support emails are kept as long as needed to handle your request.
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or U.S. state privacy laws), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Because we hold almost no personal information about you, most requests are simplest to exercise on your device (delete the app to delete local data). For anything else, write to contact@cibeleinc.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
Replica Studio is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
We rely on the security of iOS for data stored on your device and on encrypted connections (HTTPS) for every network request the app makes.
We may update this Policy. The date below shows the latest version; material changes will be announced in the app or on this page.
