The agreement governing your use of Odyssey.
These terms govern your use of Odyssey, an application for exploring history, art, literature and ideas, operated by CIBELE, Inc. By using Odyssey, you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the app.
Odyssey presents human civilization as one continuous journey: eras and a timeline, an atlas, lives, works of art, literature, cinema, theatre, philosophy, science and myth. It is an educational and cultural application, offered for study and curiosity.
It is not a scholarly authority, not a textbook and not a substitute for academic sources. See the Historical Content Disclaimer.
Odyssey needs no account, no email address and no sign-in. Your reading, your notes and your progress are kept on your own device.
Odyssey is currently offered at no charge and contains no purchase, no subscription and no advertising. If that ever changes, the terms will be updated and the change announced in the app before it takes effect.
You agree not to:
Odyssey, its software, interface, design, original texts, maps and illustrations belong to CIBELE, Inc. or are licensed to it. Works reproduced from the public domain are credited in the app, with their source and the reason they are in the public domain.
Your notes belong to you. They are stored on your device and we neither read them nor receive them.
Odyssey is offered as it is. We may add, change, suspend or discontinue features. Because the app works offline, an interruption on our side does not stop you from using the version installed on your device.
To the fullest extent permitted by the applicable law, CIBELE, Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damage arising from your use of Odyssey. Nothing here excludes a liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and mandatory consumer rights are unaffected.
These terms are governed by the law of the State of New York and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory provisions of your own jurisdiction provide otherwise.
These terms may be updated. The version in force is the one published here. Continuing to use Odyssey after a change means accepting the new terms.
